Out To Sea, IX - Original

Out to Sea, IX is a large-scale original oil painting created as a three-panel triptych.

Each panel captures a portion of open water, and together they create one uninterrupted surface of shifting tide.

Painted using a limited palette, the water moves gently across all three canvases. There is no shoreline. No sky. Just the quiet rhythm of the sea — reflective, steady, expansive.

Your eye travels slowly from left to right, following the natural movement of the surface. It’s calm but dimensional. Present without demanding attention.

This contemporary seascape is designed to live across a wall with space between each panel, allowing the movement of the water to breathe and expand into the room. It creates depth without noise. It holds space rather than filling it.

Painted in Montauk in 2026.

Installation & Spacing

This piece is designed to be displayed as a triptych with even spacing between each panel.

I recommend leaving 1.5 to 3 inches between each canvas, depending on your wall size and preference.

Closer spacing (around 1.5–2 inches) keeps the movement feeling continuous and intimate.

Wider spacing (2.5–3 inches) gives the piece more breathing room and a slightly more architectural presence.

If spaced approximately 2 inches apart, the total width on your wall will be about 76 inches.

Each panel is wired and ready to hang.
